Dilshad Siddiquea Swaty

Dilshad Siddiquea Swaty is an Anthropologist and Political Enthusiast living in Bangladesh. By profession, she is an independent strategic researcher in the social development field. For the past two decades, she has been passionate about observing social and political mass movements in Bangladesh, particularly how society and the state apparatus shape political and cultural narratives in people’s mindsets through historical paradigms. Her academic research focuses on the established history versus the experiences of peasant women during Bangladesh’s liberation war, within a specific local context. She is deeply interested in observing how the concept of 'woman' has evolved in society through the changing roles of women in historical events. Swaty seeks to construct women's own narratives (Her-Story) by engaging in the processes of learning, unlearning, and relearning. She stands for democracy, envisioning a future where Bangladesh becomes a true republic for its people, ensuring economic freedom and equal social status for all, including those from the Plainland and Hill Tracts. A proud Bangladeshi by birth and a mother of two daughters.
